How to start a business
The Entrepreneurial Skills Training was designed for the Early Phase Entrepreneurs in business and even those who have not registered their businesses, to assist them to lay a proper foundation before they start their business. It is also intended for individuals who do not have a business but want to learn a different skill which may be utilised in their current jobs.
You will learn the following:
- Match new venture opportunity to market needs (how to compile a business plan) Apply the basic skills of customer service in your business
- Manage finances for a new venture (How to do costing in your business) Plan to manage one’s time effectively

How to network
This course will also add value to entrepreneurs who are seeking to develop their entrepreneurial skills so that they can become more marketable for bigger contracts, including commercial and public sector contracts.
You will learn the following:
- Tender for Business or work in a selected new venture Procuring and reviewing a tender document.
- Preparing and completing a tender document. Submitting a tender document
02. HEALTH & SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE
Occupational Health & Safety in the Workplace
This program explains the following:
- Employer and employee duties with regard to Occupational Safety and Health in the workplace
- The general safety rules in the workplace
- The use of personal protective equipment in the workplace; Good housekeeping in the workplace
- How to apply emergency procedures in the workplace
Basic Fire Fighting
- Discussing and explaining procedures for dealing with fires in the workplace.
- Identifying the type of fire, it’s context and selecting the appropriate firefighting procedure.
- Identifying, selecting and checking appropriate firefighting and safety equipment.
- Fighting containable/extinguishable fires.
- Retreating from fire site and handing over to appropriate personnel.
First Aid Level 1
- Perform Basic Life Support and First Aid Procedures
First Aid Level 2
- Provide risk-based primary emergency care/first aid in the workplace
